Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Wilkes-Barre with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in Pennsylvania may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.

The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. Typical hours are 10 am–6 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Valley Sea Foods at (570) 823-8863; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, valleyseafood.com.

Easy to find and good selection for a small business. Just picked up some blue crab and a seafood boil. Staff was kind and quick to help

2 dozen claims they steamed, a lump crab cake, Β½lb of fried cod, s Cole slaw, fries, and alligator bites (a little spicy but good. Fries and slaw were bland. Cod and clams were good. Can definitely get cheaper clams at Price Chopper, where you can take them home, steamed by employee for free Great service. Decent prices. Now, have to check out C&D off 309 next to the big cow. Iykyk.

Very convenient restaurant quality fish and chips! Today I tried grouper and fries. It was packaged in a British take-away style with newspaper replica lining. I ordered the Ken's tarter sauce but at home I used malt vinegar on the fries. Super tasty. The order included 1/2 lb of fried clams, our go-to choice which never disappoints. Online order at lunchtime was ready in under 15 minutes. Why wait in Drive-thru? This place is a gem.

This is my go-to spot for fried seafood, full-stop. My go-to order is the breaded haddock and breaded shrimp. The quality is fantastic, and the food is cooked so well that even the frozen items, like the battered cod, still taste better than they would at another restaurant. There's more than ample parking in the free lot, although the place is an absolute institution and there are some times, like Fridays, when there's a long line and a wait. However, that line is there for a reason. This place is delightful. Whenever I have a craving, I take a 40 minute drive down, and I've never second-guessed that decision.
